Mario: Color Splash was developed by Intelligent Systems and published by
Nintendo for the Wii U. The game was released worldwide in October 2016. The
game was the last game in the "Super Mario" series for the Wii U.
In the plot, Mario has been sent to
Prism Island after the Paint Stars have come up missing. Mario's job is to
recover the Paint Stars and return paint to Prism Island. Mario meets up with a
talking paint can named Huey.
Critics found fault with the game for
the same battle mechanics as Paper Mario: Sticker Star for the Nintnedo 3DS. It
received mostly positive reviews. As of December 2016, the game has sold
approximately 720,000 copies.
