Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is an upcoming title for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The game will be released in 2025. The game is being developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo.
The game was announced by Nintendo at E3 2017. The game was being developed by another company at that time. In 2019, Nintendo announced the game was being restarted by Retro Studios.
In June 2024, Nintendo released the first trailer of the game and the announcement that the game would be released in 2025. The Switch 2 version was announced during the Switch 2 Direct on April 2, 2025. The Switch 2 version will run 1080 at 120 FPS and 4K resolution at 60 FPS.
Story
Following the destruction of the Phazon, Samus Aran fights for survival on the planet Viewros and confronts foes including the rival bounty hunter Sylux. Beyond introduces psychic powers, which can be used to operate mechanisms and guide shots.
