Overview
Mario Kart World[a] is an upcoming kart racing game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch 2. It is scheduled for release on June 5, 2025 as a launch game for the console. It adds open world and off-roading elements to the Mario Kart series.
The game features over 40 playable characters, many of which also have alternate costumes. It supports up to 24 players, a first in the series. This also includes online play. The game features an open world design, a free-roaming mode, off-roading segments, boat racing, rail grinding and wall jumping. The game will feature over 40 playable characters.
Reception & Sales
The game will retail for $80 USD and the price tag has set off controversy.
