Overview
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a 3D platformer developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. It was initially released on March 25, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch. This installment marks Kirby’s first full 3D adventure, set in a mysterious, post-apocalyptic world teeming with enemies, puzzles, and secrets. The game went on sale March 25, 2022.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will feature enhanced graphics, support for 4k resolution and 60 fps in handheld and docked modes. This cersion will also include additional levels, new copy abilities, and an extended story chapter featuring post-game challenges. The Switch 2 version will go on sale on August 28, 2025.
In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, players control Kirby as he explores vast, open-ended stages filled with platforming challenges, enemies, and collectibles. The game retains Kirby’s signature copy ability, allowing him to inhale and mimic the powers of various enemies. New gameplay elements include:

Reception & Sales
Kirby and the Forgotten Land received critical acclaim for its innovative gameplay, charming world design, and successful transition to 3D. It became one of the best-selling Kirby games. By March 2024, total sales reached 7.52 million units, solidifying its position as the top-selling game in the series.
