Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a sequel to Hyrule Warriors. The game is also a prequel story of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game was developed by Koei Tecmo Games and Omega Force. It was published by Koei Tecmo in Japan amd Nintendo in the rest of the world. The game was released on November 20, 2020.

     The game takes place before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. New characters in the series include Mipha, Revali, Urbosa, and Daruk. Players were also able to control the foure Divine Beasts.

     The game was compatible with amiibo. The four champions amiibo were re-released alongside the game. These amiibo were first released with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

     The game takes place 100 years prior to Breath of the Wild. It tells the story of the Great Calamity in which Calamity Ganon's forces attacked Hyrule.

 

      The game received DLC content.  This content was released at two different times. The first wave was released on June 18, 2021 while the second wave was released in November 2021.

     The game received high praise for its gameplay and graphics. The game became the best game in the "Dynasty Warriors" series or a game based on that franchise including Fire Emblem Warriors. The game sold over 3.5 million copies in just 6 weeks.
