Yoshi’s New Island was released on March 14, 2014 in North America and Europe.  It was released the next day in Australia.  It was further released on July 24, 2014 in Japan.  The game was developed Arzest and published by Nintendo.

     The gameplay is similar to other Yoshi’s Island games.  Different Yoshi must carry Baby Mario to the end of each stage avoiding enemies and avoiding obstacles.  Yoshi has six different vehicle transformations in the game.  These are Hot Air Balloon, Helicopter, Jackhammer, Mine Cart, Bobsled, and Submarine.

     The game’s events take place immediately after the events of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island.  The stork delivered Baby Mario and Baby Luigi to the wrong family.  Baby Luigi and the stork are kidnapped.  Yoshi’s Island DS takes place after this game.

     The game received mixed reviews.  The game received ratings in the middle but was criticized of the small aspects of the games.  The game sold 11 million copies.
