Level-5 and Nintendo. The games were first released in Japan on July 10,
2014. The games were finally released in North America on September 30,
2016. The first two games were finally released in Europe in April 2017.
Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Spirits is the upcoming third game in this sequel. The game is called Yo-kai Watch 2: Shin'uchi in Japan which was released back in December 2014. Shin'uchi has sold over 2.6 million copies in Japan since its release.
The games were highly anticipated for their release in Japan. The games quickly became two of the best selling games for the Nintendo 3DS. In Japan, a third game had been released in December 2014. In Japan, the three games have sold a combined total of over 6 million copies.
Like the previous game, Yo-kai Watch 2 is an open-world role-playing game. Players take the role of Nathan Adams as he searches for and befriends various Yo-kai.
Various merchandise for the games have been released over the past few years. A cartoon series based on Yo-kai 2 was released in Japan. As of February 2017, in the U.S., Disney was still showing season 1 while Japan is showing Season 3 of the series. Yo-kai Watch 3 has already been released in Japan.
