Hey Pikmin! is a new type of Pikmin game for the Nintendo 3DS.  The game is being developed by Arzest and published by Nintendo.  The game was released on July 28, 2017 in North America.

     A new Pikmin amiibo was released alongside the game.  Leveling up the Pikmin amiibo will allow more Pikmin that can be called upon when on an expedition.  Other compatible amiibo will find secret spots and solve touchscreen puzzles.

     For the first time, Pikmin was presented as a side-scrolling game.  Players use different Pikmin using the touchscreen to solve puzzles, overcome challenges, and different enemies. 

     The game was criticized for being too easy and the puzzles being too simple.  As of January 2018, the game has sold about 350,000 copies.
